What is your greatest achievement in your career?
"Working on fascinating capital expenditure projects and creating a national movement around addressing the underrepresentation of minorities in Engineering. Being Co-Founder of AFBE-UK provides me with an opportunity to combine three things that define me: a keen interest in science and engineering, motivating other people towards a common cause, and mentoring."
Who or what inspires you in your work?
“Growth: I had a small garden when I was young and one of my most fascinating experiences was planting a seed and watching it grow. When I think of my job as a chemical engineer where ideas are taken from concept to operation and of the seed of AFBE-UK that grew from 5 people in 2007 to a nation-wide community of >2,500 people today, I feel inspired.”
Please provide one piece of advice for future global ethnic-majority engineers.
“Many of the things that will propel your career happen after 5pm, so spend that time discovering the person you see in the mirror, investing in yourself and knowing that it’s okay to be that person.”
