Video round up

On 1st August 2019, we held the first ever REflect event at Hawker House in London.

We engaged with young people from the BAME & low socioeconomic communities through an inspirational event which showcased engineering & technology and highlighted cool opportunities in this industry which they may not have had access to before. Delegates learnt that they can have rewarding careers regardless of their background.

We had 300 attendees, 8 motivational speakers and ran a series of interactive exhibits. The stage was a mixture of inspirational & informative talks, live Q&A between the audience and the speakers and music performances. Exhibits included:

Delegates had the chance to network with people outside of their usual circles, and during the event, attendees were given the chance to sign up to a 6-month follow up programme. We successfully put 30 young people through a programme of workshops to develop technical and employability skills.

Our partner for the 2019 event was Inside Success.

Inside Success launched in 2015 with the purpose of supporting 16-24-year-olds in jobs, training and education. We aim to tackle the issues faced by young people, including unemployment, social issues, teenage pregnancy, crime, mental health and more.

Our two sponsors for REflect 2019 were Ofcom & Harting.
